This time last week I was laid on a glorious beach in Sicily soaking up the sun and enjoying a well earned rest. During the week I was there I saw seven weddings all in the beautiful town of Taormina on the Eastern side of the island and wanted to share with you the styles the brides were sporting.
In a country where police uniforms are designed by Armani we all know that the Italians have a sophisticated style that very few other countries are able to imitate and the bridal parties I spotted were no different. The grooms all immaculately dressed in navy suits whilst most of the brides opted for white gowns rather than ivory, to symbolise purity.
The dresses were on key for Spring 2010 all embellished with flowers ranging from tiny to large. Ruffled tiers from the waist down were also a key feature.
Most brides chose to wear their hair up and opted for headpieces which were simple yet elegant such as Jo Barnes Effie headdress and the Filippa Scott pearl leaf tiara.
